10:05pm: Good evening

To all Snape fans and beyond.

More and more fans are moving over to my Facebook page, and while there are a few stragglers who have yet to make the move, I may eventually be closing this journal and completely converting over. Either that or changing the nature of this journal altogether. Not sure how, but I can't keep doubling up on everything. Slowly some of my family members are making the leap..once they all do..woohoo! This may be the end of it in one form or another. I may revamp it and make it totally promotional. Not sure yet.

But until then....get ready! ComicCon is coming! I'll have live updates as things progress, from our high rise way above the crowds of San Diego below.

I'm looking forward to it. I have alot of confidence in this year's offerings. I love "meetin' the people, having dinner with friends, goofing off and watching the spectacle.

Many years ago while at Warner Brothers I felt like taking a drive to the now closed "Collectors Camelot" in Sherman Oaks. They sold vintage toys and whatever was considered collectible at the moment.

I went to open the front door to the shop and found it locked. I looked in thru the glass and could see the owner in there, helping someone out at the counter. That was weird. Why was the door locked? I decided to wait a minute and see what happens.

A few moments later the woman came to the door, unlocked it and a young lady came out followed by a thin man wearing sunglasses, hair back in a ponytail and baseball cap. I watched him go by and it was clear by his body language he wanted to avoid any contact with anyone, sort of slightly spooked or something. The door was now open so I went in. The owner went back behind the counter and apologized to me, saying "Sorry I had to lock the door, but that was Michael Jackson and he doesn't want anyone in here when he shops." I looked back and watched him going down the sidewalk with the young lady.

"He always wants my daughter to escort him to his car" she went on, "because he's afraid of getting shot."

Wow. OK. I looked at the huge pile of stuff he had gathered that he bought and I guess was going to have delivered. Loads of antique toys, including a Peter Pan tea set, and..haha..a bunch of Michael Jackson dolls, still in the boxes.

Can you imagine buying up a bunch of dolls of yourself.

Anyway, that's it...wacky, eh?

And what a sad day it is today, indeed. I had been wondering for a few years how long he would last...quite frankly. I never saw him actually getting old and aging, maybe because I just can not imagine what the heck his face would look like..and if after all the alterations it could even hold up for 20-30 more years. Maybe also because he just seemed to be getting very fragile, or weak..worn out maybe.

Regardless...he was one of those lives that burned fast and hot...and certainly will be placed on the shelf along with Marilyn Monroe, James Dean...Elvis.

I also like the fact that it seems the whole world knew who this one person was..and paid tribute to him with all kinds of imitations..there is something sort of uniting about that. Something as simple as a dance can bring the world together..that's a real positive.

Speaking of that....



On a lighter note...one of the greatest imitations of his work..none other than the Indian Thriller!!!!

I suppose it was inevitable, still it's hard to believe in some ways. When I was a pre-teen she was THE biggest thing ever, it seemed. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing this poster!
